21 Duel Blackjack at Casino Las Vegas
The first thing to remember when you start playing 21 Duel Blackjack at Casino Las Vegas is that in this version of one of the casino world’s most popular games, strangely enough, there is no Blackjack! Yes you read correctly – even though the game is called blackjack, all hands worth 21 are totally equal. So if you are dealt Ace, Queen it is worth exactly the same as if you are dealt 9, 9, 3.
So while there may be many blackjack games out there, 21 Duel Blackjack is one of the more intriguing options. This is especially true in the world of online blackjack where dozens of options are available across thousands of casinos. Casino Las Vegas itself offers more than 16 different takes on the classic blackjack game.
While the basic rules and dealing of 21 Duel Blackjack may initially appear to create a very different game to the regular version, it’s worth bearing mind that once you get used to the game it shares many characteristics with regular blackjack. So don’t let the fact that the cards are dealt differently and the table looks more complicated put you off. In fact, many blackjack aficionados say they actually prefer 21 Duel Blackjack and find it a more exciting and challenging game. And that is not to say it is difficult to play.
Betting in 21 Duel Blackjack
As in regular blackjack, in 21 Duel Blackjack you make your bets before you are dealt your cards. The bets are placed on the section marked ANTE. You can also make a side bet on the section marked 2 UP. You are then dealt two cards – one face up and one face down. The dealer is then dealt two cards face down and two face up “community” cards are placed in the middle of the table.
Now you have to try and beat the dealer, without even knowing any of the dealer’s cards. You either can choose to fold, or select the left or right card. This card is added to the one card you have turned over to become your hand. You can then choose to hold or hit. If you hit, your second, face down, card will be turned over and added to your hand. Then it is the dealer’s turn to do the same. Whoever gets the best score wins the hand, according to the pay table. The dealer must score higher than 13 to beat you.
Casino Las Vegas offers two options for playing 21 Duel Blackjack – single player or 3 hand. Single player allows you to play one hand at a time, while 3 hand raises the stakes even higher, with three hands being played simultaneously. But whichever option you choose, you’re guaranteed fun and thrills at the 21 Duel table.
