The renovations are taking place at hotels including Monte Carlo,Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Planet Hollywood Resort, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Harrah’s,Bally’s and Palazzo.Caesars Entertainment Corp. is leading the way and has invested about $350million in upgrading 4,500 rooms this year at their various resorts. Last week they announced the completionof the renovation of 1,181 rooms at the Palace Tower.
The Cosmopolitan is currently upgrading about 2,800rooms at a cost of $150 million while the Palazzo has also said that it is upgrading all 2,876 roomswith work set to finish by January.The renovation work comes as hotel occupancy and room rates continueto rise along the Strip. Occupancy was at close to 92% in the first eight months of the year, with theaverage daily rate up 4.3% to $127.70.The upgrades mean that the hotels will be charging more per roombut customers will have a more enjoyable experience overall and loyal customers may be able to stay inthe renovated rooms for free if they have enough loyalty points.Wynn Las Vegas is also completing anextensive upgrade to its curtains and carpets in the Tower Suit.In short, if you are off for yourdream Vegas holiday, you now have a better chance than ever of staying in a top quality room.
