Buster Blackjack is played in the same way as regular blackjack but with the option of placing the Buster side bet that brings even more excitement.
The Buster side bet is a bet on the dealer going bust. The size of the payout depends on the number of cards in the dealer's hand.
How To Play
The aim of Buster Blackjack is to build a hand of cards that is closer to 21 in value than the dealer's hand but without exceeding it and going bust. In Blackjack the numbered cards are worth their face values, the face cards are worth 10 and Aces are worth either 1 or 11. The most valuable hand is Blackjack, an Ace and a ten card.
It is possible to play up to five hands per round and at the start of each round you need to place chips in the relevant betting areas. You will then receive two face-up cards to each hand while the dealer will receive one face-up and the other facedown. For each hand position you are then given the basic choices of ‘Hit', ‘Stand' and ‘Double'. Choosing ‘Hit' will draw another card to the hand, choosing ‘Stand' will leave the hand as it is and choosing ‘Double' will double your bet and deal one more card.
At the end of a round winning hands are paid at 2:1 except Blackjack which is paid out at 3:2.
A few more options can come up. If you are dealt two cards with the same value to a hand then you have the choice of ‘Split'. This splits the hand into two and you can then play them individually giving you an extra chance of winning. If the dealer's first card is an Ace then you can take out insurance against the dealer having Blackjack. Insurance costs half of your initial bet and if the dealer does have Blackjack then you are paid out at 2:1 on the insurance.
Theoretically it is possible for you to build a hand of ten cards without going bust. If you manage this you will automatically win unless the dealer has Blackjack.
Buster Side Bet
At the start of a round you have the chance to place a side bet on the dealer going bust. If you win the bet the payout depends on how many cards were in the dealer's hand as detailed in the paytable below. The payouts can increase significantly if your hand contains Blackjack.
